One device. One subscription. Carrier-grade LTE.

What ships
Everything the line needs, in one box.
The AReS 2 gateway plugs into power and connects your existing analog equipment to a major-carrier LTE network. Battery backup rides through outages. Remote management surfaces health and alerts. Compliance is engineered in, not bolted on.
Capabilities
Designed for the lines that matter most.
MultiPath connectivity, full-time monitoring, and a managed-network architecture for the places where a missed signal is a real problem.
MultiPath connectivity
Active LTE with the option to add wired Ethernet so traffic moves to a healthy path automatically. Dual-SIM support spans AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and US Cellular.
Battery and backup
14 hours of standard battery, 24 hours with the optional extender. The line stays up through grid outages, not just network outages.
Live remote monitoring
Centralized portal with real-time status, signal quality, battery health, and proactive alerts so a silent line doesn't become a silent failure.
Carrier-grade by design
Managed Facilities Voice Network (MFVN) architecture and end-to-end encryption keep traffic off the public internet where compliance requires it.
Industry Recognition
Frost & Sullivan, 2026
Industry Recognition
Independent analyst Frost & Sullivan named the Ooma AirDial platform, which powers AReS 2, the 2026 North American Competitive Strategy Leadership Recognition recipient in POTS replacement. The recognition cites AirDial's purpose-built design for mission-critical specialty lines, integrated managed-service model, MultiPath connectivity, and compliance-grade certifications.
Compliance & technical detail
Certifications you can put in a binder.
For life-safety and regulated lines, certification is the difference between a deployed solution and a stalled inspection. AReS 2 is built on the AirDial platform and its credentials.

Where it fits
The systems AReS 2 was built to replace.
If a line drops and someone has a bad day, AReS 2 belongs on it. The use cases below cover the majority of remaining business POTS exposure.
Alarm systems
Fire, intrusion, and security panels with monitored signaling.
Elevator phones
Code-compliant emergency communication paths for cabs and lobbies.
Fax lines
Healthcare, legal, and compliance fax that still moves on a per-page basis.
Emergency phones
Stairwell, parking, ADA, and area-of-refuge phones that must answer.
POS backup
Card-not-present fallback when broadband or VPN drops.
Entry systems
Access controls, intercoms, and gate phones that depend on a clean line.
